After working over 20 years in the fashion industry, James Hughes decided it was time for a change. A skills assessment test yielded that a career as a real estate broker was a perfect fit for him. In 2004, James earned his New Jersey real estate license and immediately decided to bring his professionalism and keen negotiation skills to under-served communities.
James continues to build his business and reputation one satisfied customer at a time by helping them either sell or buy real estate in northern New Jersey. He has a special talent for successfully navigating complex real estate transactions. James attributes a large portion of his client base to referrals from satisfied clients. This is evident by his 5-star rating on real estate websites Zillow and Trulia.
In 2018, James was the 5th highest ranked KW agent in the New York Tri-State region for contracts closed. He also received the New Jersey Realtors® Circle of Excellence Sales Award five years in a row.
James is currently serving on the New Jersey Realtors® Political Affairs Committee and is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) and the Urban Essex Coalition for Smart Growth.
For 2019, James is excited to announce the launch of The James Hughes Team which includes a marketing specialist, administrative assistant and two buyer agents who provide high touch personalized service from contract to close.
